What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy (or homoeopathy) is a 200-year-old form of natural medicine that stimulates a healing response and strengthens the body’s ability to heal itself. Those who practice it understand that it is a holistic system of medicine based on the theory of treating ‘like with like’. It’s based on a series of ideas developed in the 1790s by a German doctor named Samuel Hahnemann. He formulated the three major laws of homeopathy which are: like cures like; known as the law of similars, the greater the dilution the greater its potency; known as the law of infinitesimal dose and an illness is specific to the individual. Homeopathy is used to support an extremely wide range of conditions, including physical conditions such as asthma and psychological conditions such as depression. Some of the different conditions found to have results from homeopathy include, but are not limited to; eczema, tantrums, separation anxiety, gastric reflux, symptoms of ADHD and Autism, delayed development, speech delay, sleeping difficulties, teething and colds and flu.
